With the right support, together we can build a future filled with purpose, stability, and hope.

The need for our services

A community facing real barriers

The Center for Living and Learning supports justice-impacted individuals and people in recovery from substance use disorder (SUD), including those exiting treatment programs. These communities have been deeply affected by decades of punitive drug policies and “tough-on-crime” approaches that led to mass incarceration, family separation, and limited access to treatment and healthcare.

While incarcerated, many did not receive the support needed to prepare for reentry. And once released, they face ongoing barriers to housing and employment — despite Fair Chance Hiring laws.
